Residency Day 2: Fauré and Crocuses

Woven and knotted while listening to rehearsals of the Fauré Requiem and other French music - including the sublime Danses Sacrée et Profane. The latter is perfect weaving music. I keep gathering pieces for my treatise on the subject; something about strings under tension.....

Outside the cathedral there is a lawn of purple crocuses; the long ends of the knots will be trimmed once the tapestry is off the frame, and will hint at said field. Title yet to be confirmed.

I expect the community weaving to grow apace today. It is Mothering Sunday and congregants have been invited to bring yarn / thread / fabric and weave it in, in honour and remembrance of their mother or mother-figure.
